The Most Unique Airbnbs in Atlanta

Treehouse, glamping tent, airstream, oh my! The options for one-of-a-kind lodgings and accommodations are endless on Airbnb. If you’ve never stayed in an Airbnb, then you’re missing out on all the unique stays and experiences available for booking. As an Atlanta-based travel blogger, I’ve gotten the chance to visit the most unique Airbnbs in the Atlanta area. Each stay is so unique and you’ll just have to experience it for yourself. You can tell that so much love has been poured into these amazing Georgia Airbnbs from the attention to detail to the hospitality of the hosts.

Since its launch in 2008, Airbnb has increased its popularity so exponentially that the popular booking site rivals those of major hotel chains. Over the past few years, Airbnb hosts have gotten very creative with building amazing homes that are available for anyone to stay at. Plus, meeting the hosts is part of the experience! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed interacting with the amazing hosts of these unique Atlanta Airbnbs.

1. Tiki Airstream

Imagine approaching a typical neighborhood backyard and opening the fence when all of a sudden you’re met by a large tiki sculpture! Immediately, you’re transported to a tropical paradise with tiki torches lighting up the path to the Tiki Airstream. If you’ve never stayed in an airstream before, here’s your chance. I loved the whimsical theme and the luau decor all over this airstream. You don’t have to fly halfway across the world for a slice of paradise!

Tiki Airstream

Tiki Airstream welcomed its first guests in October 2019, and Mallory and Andrew have done an amazing job transforming their own backyard into this paradise getaway. These hosts had always wanted to run an Airbnb, but the original backyard was a disaster. They drew inspiration from the banana trees already in the yard and the tiki bar the previous owners had built and transformed their backyard into a tropical oasis.

The airstream is cozy on the inside and roomy enough for two people. I’m not exaggerating when I say the bed is one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept on! One of my favorite features was actually the speaker — I was able to play music from my phone and the acoustics were amazing in the airstream. I also loved spending time by the fire pit outside, roasting marshmallows, and enjoying good conversation.

Tiki Airstream is such a fun stay for couples and friends alike! If you are looking for a fun getaway, keep this Atlanta Airbnb in mind. I think you can see why this airstream is one of the most unique Airbnbs in Atlanta!

And…exciting news is that these superhosts have recently purchased a second airstream, and it is also available for booking! If you haven’t stayed in an airstream before, here’s your chance!

2. Alpaca Treehouse

When I first walked through the bamboo forest that led to the entrance of the Alpaca Treehouse, the word that popped in my mind was “magical”.

I, in turn, relayed this word to the host of this popular Atlanta Airbnb, Kara. Not surprisingly, Kara said that “magical” was the most common response she’s received from other guests. I wholeheartedly agree – this treehouse is magical!

I absolutely loved how the sunbeams strike through the bamboo, casting shadows that seemed to dance together! The bamboo forest is actually 80 years old, planted back in the 1940s or 50s. The plant is kept under control by the…resident alpacas and llamas! The only thing better than a treehouse is a treehouse with llamas and alpacas (which is why this property easily made it on the list of most unique Airbnbs in Atlanta).

This treehouse is actually on the property of a rescue farm. Not only are there llamas and alpacas, but also bunnies, and chickens. You’ll often find the hosts, Kara and Kate, feeding and taking care of all the animals as it is a working farm. I was lucky enough to get to meet and spend some time with the llamas and alpacas. These creatures are so incredibly intelligent and silly! You’ll just have to book a stay and meet these beautiful animals yourself.

There are three Airbnbs you can rent from these superhosts: Alpaca Treehouse (as pictured below), Llama Stay Farm Cottage, and Luxury Llama Cottage. Be sure to plan your stay in advance as these Airbnbs can be booked up for months.

The most epic photobomb!

One of my favorite parts about this Atlanta Airbnb (other than the llamas and alpacas of course) is the inspiration behind the Alpaca Treehouse. The inspiration behind building the original treehouse? Kara originally just wanted a place to drink wine with her friends! The manifestation of that vision has led to running 3 Airbnbs, hosting a variety of events such as llama yoga and weddings, and being featured on several shows such as Treehouse Masters and Love Is Blind. The Alpaca Treehouse is such a special place and you’ll just have to experience the magic yourself.

3. Tents at Ramsden Lake

I could not believe that this glamping site is less than 30 minutes from Atlanta. You would think you could only find this kind of peace and quiet several hours away from the bustling capital city, but this Atlanta Airbnb proves that wrong!

Look at the sweet sign!

I love that you can feel so close to nature without having to drive far. My favorite part of this entire experience is how private and secluded it is. I could not believe this special lot of land was tucked away in a suburb of Atlanta.

I love the glamping setup that the lovely hosts, Blaine and Matt, have built on this lake here. Tents at Ramsden Lake is such a hidden gem, a waterfront oasis in a city. You’ll have everything you need to disconnect at this Airbnb. The tent is complete with an indoor fireplace, books, games, and a cozy bed that’ll keep you warm even in the winter months. On top of that, there are paddleboards, kayaks, and an outdoor firepit that you should fully take advantage of. The land is spacious with 46 acres of private land and your own lake! Go on a walk, explore the lake by boat, and enjoy being so close to nature.

There are also packages you can add on to make your stay even more memorable! The hosts offer a variety of items such as a s’mores kit, fresh coffee, birthday bundle, and even an all-inclusive celebration package (check their listing on Airbnb for details). Additionally, they offer experiences such as meeting their horses and horseback riding.

The hosts actually come from a long lineage of hosts and hostesses! Creating a magical and memorable experience for each guest is a way these Airbnb hosts honor the memory of their loved ones ❤️ What a beautiful way to connect with the past and celebrate the present.

4. Trinity Treehouse

If you enjoy art, hiking, and nature, then you’re sure to love Trinity Treehouse! Trinity Treehouse sits on over 2,500 acres of secluded woods with paved trails that offer an escape from the city. A lot of love has been put into the building of the treehouse. I love how elegant and beautifully decorated the treehouse is from its hand-crafted interior to the collection of art adorning the walls. The host, Tracie, actually brought back the artwork from her trips to Africa!

This Airbnb was originally built for personal enjoyment, but the hosts realized how much other people might also enjoy it. They welcomed their first guests in July 2021 and have been a part of many special occasions since then from birthdays to honeymoons. A proposal even occurred on the balcony of the treehouse!

I am so glad these lovely hosts decided to share the serene beauty of their property with the world! The Airbnb is actually located near the Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve, and I highly recommend visiting that beautiful natural area. The nature preserve encompasses over 40,000 acres of historic sites, hiking trails, biking paths, and beautiful greenery. The best part is that the nature preserve is accessible from a trail at the Airbnb!

Trinity Treehouse offers the perfect mix of nature and comfort. There are so many ways to relax and discharge at this Airbnb. Enjoy a cup of coffee from the deck to start the day. Explore the woods and the many paths during the day. Watch for wildlife such as deer, turkey, and birds from the balcony. Admire the vibrant sunset over the woods. Unwind with a bottle of wine in front of the fireplace. This Airbnb was designed to rejuvenate, relax, and inspire.

5. Bed + Bough Treehouse

This treehouse is what dreams are made of! The Bed + Bough Treehouse is nestled in the north Georgia mountains, approximately an hour north of Atlanta. This luxury treehouse sits on five acres of land and it is close to award-winning wineries, beautiful waterfalls, and historic Dahlonega, Georgia. Spend your day exploring nearby attractions and sights and come back to this welcoming Airbnb.

Bed + Bough Treehouse

I was really impressed with how tall this treehouse is! The height of the treehouse makes for a great view over the private woods. I love the attention to detail and craftsmanship of the interior. I’m not kidding when I said I want to move into this treehouse as it’s complete with a lofted king-sized bed, books, board games, and of utmost importance…a French Press for that morning coffee 🙂

The exterior is outfitted with a built-in grill, a picnic table, a fire pit, and even a pizza oven! Whether you’re looking for a romantic escape or a friend’s getaway, Bed + Bough Treehouse is perfect for you.

6. Treasure Hunt Treehouse

Treasure Hunt Treehouse is one of the more affordable treehouses I’ve stayed at! The treehouse is located in the metro-Atlanta area in Kennesaw, Georgia. It only averages $168 per night and it is a great getaway from the city. It is a perfect weekday or weekend getaway as its location is prime.

The best Airbnbs in Atlanta

I spent a night at this treehouse and had so much fun during my stay. I love that the treehouses are connected by a swinging bridge! Exploring this treehouse totally made me feel like a child again. The bed is super comfy and cozy and I was kept warm even though I visited in winter.

What sets this treehouse apart from the previous ones I’ve mentioned is that you can go on a treasure hunt on property! Use the clues in the clues book and maybe you’ll find the gold. Treasure Hunt Treehouse is truly a hidden gem.
