The Most Underrated European Country

When people think about traveling to Europe, typically countries such as Italy, Germany, England, Spain, or France pop into their minds. However, while thousands of people flock to these popular destinations every year, there is one lesser-visited country that deserves our love. The most underrated European country? Poland.

Old Town – Krakow, Poland

You may have thought about taking a trip to Poland or that thought may have never crossed your mind, but I’m here to tell all the reasons to go ahead and book that flight to Poland.

1. Incredibly Cheap

The affordability is one of the reasons why Poland is the most underrated European country. Visiting Poland versus Western European countries will certainly make your wallet very happy. You will get the best bang for your buck when choosing to explore Poland. 1 USD converts to between 3 or 4 Polish zlotys. For comparison, I had a full dinner with a cocktail for about 7 USD. That’s how affordable Poland is.

2. Rich History

Poland has a long and rich history that is also a symbol of resilience. The country has defended its freedom and sovereignty numerous times over the past thousand year due to its location between Eastern and Western Europe. Polish history is marked with wars and uprisings, but the pride and spirit of the Polish people have led to a now sovereign and stable country. Visit Poland to learn about its rich history and culture firsthand.

3. Amazing Castles

Go castle hopping through Poland with its range of medieval fortresses to quaint fairytale manors. Some can’t-miss castles include the Wawel Castle in Krakow and the Malbork Castle in Northern Poland.

4. Beautiful Nature

Whether you want mountains, lakes, rivers, beaches, or forests, Poland has it all. There are 23 National Parks in Poland which showcases its natural gems. Some of those national treasures are unique and cannot be found anywhere else in the world. Awe at sight of the mysterious Crooked Forest, explore Tatra National Park, and see the Land of the Thousand Lakes.

5. Great Food

If you’ve never tried Polish food then you have been missing out your entire life! Polish cuisine is rich and hearty and will leave you feeling very satisfied. Pierogi, zapiekanka, and rosół are some of my favorites!

Poland is a must-visit destination and Europe, and it has been overlooked by its Western neighbors. Go ahead and make Poland your next European adventure!
