1. Philbrook Museum of Art

I would’ve never guessed this was in Oklahoma! Find yourself transported to Italy when you visit the Philbook Museum of Art. This art museum is located in a former 1920s villa, “Villa Philbrook”, which also has impressive expansive gardens! I spent hours here just admiring the beautiful architecture and exploring the gardens. This is a must visit in Oklahoma!
2. Oxley Nature Center
6700 Mohawk Blvd, Tulsa, OK 74115
Located within Mohawk Park, the Oxley Nature Center offers over 800 acres of secluded space, 9 miles of trails, and a wildlife interpretive center. Explore the many trails and you’ll find yourself walking through different ecosystems. My favorite trails include the Blackbird Marsh, Blue Heron Trail, and the Meadowlark Prairie. If you get lucky, you’ll spot wildlife like beavers and herons!
3. Woodward Park
2435 S Peoria Ave, Tulsa, OK 74114
Woodward Park is a beautiful green space in the heart of Tulsa. It is home to walking trails, flower gardens, and a conservatory! It is a great way to spend a sunny afternoon, and it is free to visit. I loved looking at the many different varieties of plants in the greenhouse, especially the cactus.
4. Gathering Place
2650 S John Williams Way, Tulsa, OK 74114
The Gathering Place is a world class, award-winning park located on the riverfront in Tulsa! This is by far the coolest park I’ve ever seen and a great public space for everyone. Take a walk through the park and you’ll find out why this park has won so many awards and accolades.
5. Bricktown
W Sheridan Ave & NEK Gaylord Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73104
Bricktown is a fun entertainment district in Oklahoma City! Old warehouse spaces have been transformed into eclectic restaurants, breweries, dueling piano lounges, and chic wine bars. Plus, the Bricktown Canal is a great place for a stroll. You could also play a game of mini golf, go to the arcade, or take a tour on the Bricktown Water Taxi.
6. Myriad Botanical Gardens

Explore a tropical rainforest in the heart of Oklahoma City! You’ll find a variety of exotic flora in Myriad Botanical Gardens. The 15-acre outdoor grounds are free to visit, and although the Crystal Bridge Tropical Conservatory charges for admission, I think it is still well-worth the visit. The towering jungle plants are quite the sight to see!
7. Hefner Lighthouse

Lake Hefner is absolutely beautiful at sunset! Plus, the lighthouse makes for a very picturesque capture. Sit on the rocks and watch as the sun disappears on the horizon, casting vibrant warm colors in the sky.
8. Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge

Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge was my favorite place I visited in Oklahoma! The landscape here is absolutely incredible with plenty of hikes offering scenic views. Also, you’ll most likely see bison and prairie dogs! Check out the complete guide on visiting the refuge.
9. Turner Falls Park
U.S, Highway 77, Davis, OK 73030
Turner Falls Park is the perfect place to spend a hot summer afternoon! It features one of Oklahoma’s tallest waterfalls, dropping 77 feet into a natural swimming pool. You can also enjoy hiking on the nature trails, exploring the caves, fishing, and camping on the grounds. This park draws thousands of visitors a year so be sure make a reservation online to guarantee your entry.
10. Beavers Bend State Park

It is no wonder this state park is one of Oklahoma’s most popular areas. There is plenty to do in Beavers Bend State Park including hiking, biking, boating, fishing, water skiing, canoeing, horseback riding and much more.
